About Us

St George's is a larger than average primary school near to Enfield Town. With 550 children on roll, we are three form entry in key stage 2 and two form entry in key stage 1. We have a thriving nursery (Little Dragons) and pre-school music group (Little Owl's). We have popular breakfast and after school clubs, as well as a wealth of extra-curricular activities for the children.

We are a Catholic school and the mission, vision and aims that you will read on these pages reflect that. We are proud, however, to welcome children of other faiths or of no faith. We are a diverse community with families originating from all parts of the globe.

Throughout the year we offer opportunities for our parents to find out more about the life and learning in the school. In Reception classes, parents are invited to a 'getting to know you' coffee morning, and then regular Stay and Play sessions, allowing parents to spend time in the classroom with their children. Throughout Reception and Key Stage 1, parents can attend a 'Story Cafe', joining their children for a story read by the class teacher and helping their children to complete the enjoyable phonics and comprehension tasks that follow. Separate Phonics information sessions are also offered. As children move into Key Stage 2, parents are able to attend curriculum information meetings which impart helpful knowledge to support your child's learning at home. Year 6 parents will additionally be offered meetings about the year group's week-long residential visit, secondary school transfer and information about the RSE curriculum.

We hold parent consultations twice year (autumn and spring terms), each accompanied by a 'Book Look', where parents can spend dedicated time with their children looking through their school books.

The school's parental support is strikingly evidenced by the support given to the invaluable Helping Hands (PTA). Their incredible activities have not only provided the school with wonderful social events, but also raised crucial funds for improving the school's facilities.

"Brilliant event, we had a wonderful time. It was great to see the whole class explore and interact."
