The Young Apprentice 2019 -Year 6
In the Summer term, Year 6 participated in a competition called the Young Apprentice. Each class had three distinct groups, and each group had to come up with a different and original idea for planning stalls. The groups presented their ideas to an esteemed panel of judges (Fr.Chinadu, Mrs Jones-Owen and Mrs McCaffrey) who had to decide the classes’ fate! Once the winner for each class was confirmed, all the children in the class came together to support the winning idea. Their task was to compete against the opposing classes, the idea being they had to make a profit on the money they had been allocated to set up their stall.
The classes then competed against each other to present fun, individual and different stalls. Classes from the rest of the school came to take part in the activities. On some activities there were prizes to be won. Children who came to the stalls were very excited and the Year 6 children were very proud of their teamwork and how successful their stalls were. The class with the most profit in the end would be the winner.
The results were: 6S came 3rd (they lost by only 5p), 2nd place went to 6M and the winners were 6A who took all the glory of 1st place by a significant advantage.
Overall, Year 6 enjoyed every moment, while Year 5 have now have now realised that they have a lot to live up to! Good luck to them for next year!
