School Meals
At St George's we like to make sure the meals for everyone are healthy, tasty, social and fun. We recently introduced the new pre-booking school meals system which helps the school kitchen to better manage meal preparations and minimise food waste.
Key Stage 1
ALL children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to universal infant free school meals.
Key Stage 2
Thanks to the Mayor of London, ALL children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will also receive free school meals from September 2023 until July 2024. This scheme has been extended and will continue for the 2024 to 2025 academic year. Please see the Mayor's letter at the bottom of this page.
Your child will receive a free school meals automatically, but it’s vitally important that you still complete the registration form in case your child is eligible for extra funding for their school from the Government, worth £1,300 per year. That’s extra money to spend on enrichment activities, teacher development, and targeted support for the children that need it most. It may also entitle you to other benefits like food vouchers during the holidays. You can find the free school meals application form below. Completed forms need to be sent to freeschoolmeals@enfield.gov.uk.
There is more information about registration here:
Those parents/carers whose children already qualify for free school meals under the Government’s existing offer must also continue to apply for free school meals as before.
You can also call the Pupil Benefit Helpline on 0208 379 5367.
Pre-booking school meals
We ask that all parents pre-book their child's school meals in advance. This helps the school kitchen to better manage meal preparations and minimise food waste.
Parents can easily pre-book meals through the online booking system (Parent Pay), selecting meal options for the upcoming week or month. Parents must confirm their selections by 8 a.m. every morning. Please ensure that bookings are made by the specified deadline to avoid any disappointment.
We ask that parents cancel any relevant school selection bookings they made on Parent Pay as soon as possible, if their child is going to be absent.
Please find the Cypad user guide attached below for step-by-step instructions on how to book meals. If you have any further questions or need assistance with the booking process, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Packed lunches
Glass bottles and cans are not permitted in packed lunches and, in line with our healthy school status, sweets and chocolates should not be included in your child's lunch box. As a nut-free school, please ensure that nuts or products that may contain nuts, are not included in your child's packed lunch as this could be a danger to those with allergies.
If your child has any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please email the school office at office@st-georges.enfield.sch.uk. The welfare officer will then contact you to discuss your child's needs.
